Roses of Every Hue

I blogged about the plethora of pink roses in The Cranford Rose Garden in the Brooklyn Botanic Garden for Pink Saturday, on this post", and now I'd like to show you some of the other beautiful hues of roses that I saw there for Mary's "Mosaic Monday" event going on over at her Little Red House blog.

(all photos and mosaics may be enlarged by clicking on once, and then again when it opens on a new page.  Please use your browser's back arrow to return to the post)

The Cranford Rose Garden had riotous red roses in every shade and shape...

.......and the palest of peach and the yummiest of yellow roses......

...but my favorite color was the luscious lavender colored roses ...they looked so delicate and rare!

What is you favorite rose color?

Oh Pat- These are beautiful roses!!! I love the lavender ones in the last mosaic the best. Geez, I need a tutorial in mosaics. I am a newbie, that's for sure. What program do you use? That last one is amazing.

Pat, these are beautiful! Naturally, living in Texas, I'm partial to yellow roses :) But that beautiful pale lavender is gorgeous. My favorite photo, though, is the bottom right in the second mosaic, you caught a ladybug! Kathy

Sue, I use Google Picasa to make all my mosaics. It is a easy program to use..I just play around with it and try different combinations.

Beautiful! I saw a beautiful rose garden in Fort Worth where all the roses were the same color. When I began my own, I'd planned to copy that one, but realized I couldn't choose a favorite color. I love them all.

My one rule is that I must have some scented ones in it. Ahhhhhhh.

lovely pictures!

Just BREATH TAKING, Pat...*swoon*... These rose mosaics are dazzling. I just love roses of all kinds. But I tend to prefer those of a tender pink shades. ;o) We currently have two climbing roses. They were hit bad by frost earlier this year, but are pulling through--the one may bloom for us yet! Happy Week ((HUGS))

I have a fav rose La Reine Des Violettes. It is an old one but the scent and colour are amazing. You have the bright pink buds then a paler pink bloom, and as the flowers fade they stay on the bush turning lilac coloured, so you get a whole mix of colour all at once.

OMGoodness Pat....You find the most beautiful areas to photograph!! My fav roses are the heirloom kind that are very fragrant!! I go more for the aroma than the looks!!
Have a Wonderful Day!

I am imagining I am there amid that bounty of beautiful roses. And I can pick any bouquet of roses I want. Wouldn't it be great? I'd pick that yellow rose tinged with red but honestly, any of the other beauties you posted would make my day too.

My dad would have loved this posting. He adored roses and we have over 200 varities around our home in New Jersey. He spent years trying to perfect the pure white rose but there was always a light streak of lavender at the base petals. I also like the lavender ones best and dad had several varities. Sea Witch

I wanted to stay on your blog all day and just keep looking at the beauty you shared. The roses themselves are exceptional, but how you photographed them is even more beautiful! My favorite(as difficult as it is to choose), is the first pink one. Thank you for sharing the gardens with us.

These rose mosaics are gorgeous. We just planted knockout roses down an ugly fence and I also planted a Hot Chocolate rose. Can't wait to see it bloom, it's supposed to have brown overtones. Thanks for stopping by my blog. I am so jealous of you. I have only been to NY once but my dream is to go again and stay longer.

Omigosh how beautiful!!! I've always been a sucker for the pink and lavender ones, but those yellows are so beautiful, too! :)

Pat,
I am a fan of the lavender rose as well, I think it is because it is so unusual. Those roses are amazing. We once had hundreds of rose bushes in one of our city parks, but funds ran low and they "went away". So sad!
