Happy Easter!

Spring comes to Colorado with days of sunny warmth followed by nights of frost and snow. It is too unpredictable to plant, but the longer hours of daylight still brings flowers to the landscape non-the-less. The trees blossom and bulbs burst forth. The hardy wildflowers begin to bloom and even cacti in the foothills come alive again.

Our community has an annual Easter Egg Hunt every year, so it is always fun to see our oldest granddaughter, who lives near us, attend this event every year. This year she was so excited to see the Easter Bunny she leaped into its arms!

Last year--click here to see that post--we had snow on the ground during the Easter Egg Hunt, but this year we had a pleasant day in the high 60's. The beautiful weather brought out many children and there was a wild rush to collect eggs in the two to four year old group.  It was very exciting for the little ones!
We are hoping we can hold Grandma's and Pop Pop's egg hunt at our house for all our grandchildren outside this year, too, as every year before we had to do it inside. Again, we can not predict what the spring weather will be in April.

One thing for sure is that I will be busy this week shopping and cooking and preparing for Easter dinner at our house. The collage above shows some of the food I prepared last Easter.

It is always joyous for our family to celebrate together!

"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies."

Wishing you a very Happy and Blessed Easter!

Happy Easter to all of you Pat! And I hope the weather cooperates. Your feast looks fabulous -- how fortunate for your family that you two are living close to them!

Pat, your Easter luncheon looked wonderful! We are planning something similar for our gathering this coming weekend. Utah also has the unpredictable weather syndrome. Last week was lovely, and yesterday it snowed! Tomorrow is supposed to improve again. It makes party planning challenging for sure. Have a great Easter!

🐇Happy times! I had to go back and see the snow last year, not because I have forgotten what snow looks like, but because I wanted to see how much your grandgirlie has grown. She liked the carrot last year. 🙂

🌷Have a blessed Easter week...

I hope your Easter turns out to be a beautiful warm, sunny day. Perfect day for more Easter egg hunts at home. We live in West Virginia and it seems that it is often cool or rainy on Easter, so we're hoping for a nice day too. You have a lovely family!

One of my favorite weeks of the year celebrating the Resurrection and the Life!

Easter week blessings to you, too, Pat. Egg hunts are unpredictable around here as well; it's good to have an alternate plan in mind.

Your granddaughter is growing so quickly. We'll be gathering with family, too, although our youngest daughter and her husband won't be there. It's a wonderful thing to celebrate the Resurrection.

Lots of eggs for your granddaughter to find at the Easter Egg hunt. It looks like she'll have plenty to eat later if your photos of the food from last year are any indication of the feast you're putting on this year.
