I hope everyone in the U.S.A. has remembered to VOTE today! It is a privilege and an honor to be part of this great country's elective process, and I have supported each President who has been elected, whether I voted for him or not.
I'd like to share this prayer that President Dwight D. Eisenhower penned for his inauguration, as its message holds true for today:
An Inaugural Prayer
"Almighty God, we beseech that Thou will make full and complete our dedication to the service of the people everywhere.
Give us, we pray, the power to discern clearly right from wrong, and allow all our words and actions to be governed thereby, and by the laws of this land. Especially we pray that our concern shall be for all the people regardless of station, race or calling.
May cooperation be permitted and be the mutual aim of those who, under the concepts of our Constitution, hold to differing political faiths; so that all may work for the good of our beloved country and Thy glory. Amen"
And as President John F. Kennedy said:
"... let us go forth to lead the land we love. asking His blessing and His help, but knowing that here on earth God's work must truly be our own."

Thanks for dropping by my blog! I'm a lover of Italy (no husband from there though)ever since we went on vacation there. It was a dream come true for me! I'm equally impressed with New York - have never been to New York City - have crossed the state on our way to Maine but have in my head that I will someday experience the city and all it has to offer. I've added your blog to "my favorites" so will be checking in on you. Congratulations on your upcoming "Grandmotherhood"! It'll be one more person to think/worry about for you. They are so precious - you automatically claim them for your "worry" list! PAM
ReplyDeleteHi Pat, Yeah! I love your sweet story as I am huge animal fan. You are a good person for taking him. Our huge 21 pound fluffy furball is Chestnut. We found him on Christmas Eve o3' in our backyard which backed to woods. He was 2 pounds and a tiny doll. He's my first cat and I adore him! He's quite spoiled. :) Come check out my Tablescape Tuesday if you have time. ~Warmly, Melissa
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful trash to treasure story!!!! It made me smile!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it all worked out for everyone involved...a loving pet and a husband :)
take care,
Dawn
Hi Pat!
ReplyDeleteBo is just the sweetest thing! I can certainly understand why you picked him to post, and what a wonderful story about his adoption. That's how we've gotten several of our pets and it is a great feeling.
We voted today but it was the hardest election I've voted in!
Love the quote by JFK, I can still hear his voice.
Hugs, Sherry
Hi Pat, thanks for visiting me and your nice compliments. Wow! Your in NYC! I'm a small town girl in Arkansas. I've always wanted to go to NYC but I don't think it will be any time soon. About my Etsy store, if you click on Kristen's creations on Etsy on the side bar it should take you there. I only have 4 things on right now, I sold a lot recently, but will have more on at the end of the week.Your cat is so pretty, I'm a cat lover though, I know many are not! Kristen
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful treasure you found--if you recall, I found my little kitty treasure last June and she has turned out to be a wonderful little buddy!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you didn't get a sticker for voting :) Ever since I can remember, we've received a sticker. It wasn't until this year that anyone (that I know of) offered to give us something if we showed them our I voted sticker!!! I could have taken the coffee or beer, but there's no place on my body a piercing would be a good look! ;)
The support you show for the elected officials is really great--whether you voted for them or not.
Thank you for sharing the prayer and quote of DD Eisenhower and JK Kennedy.
Dana

That is the best Trash to Treasure anyone could ever have. Funny I've never thought of my dogs as a Trash to Treasure but they are. Thank you for pointing that out and thank you for saving Bo's life.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Joanne
Bo is such a beauty, Pat... He reminds me very much of a childhood cat we had in the 60's. Her name was Spooky because she had one green eye and one blue eye, and she was also a long haired white angora... I'll have to try and find an old photo of her to post someday... Thank you for the MA award!! I appreciate it very much!...Donna
ReplyDeleteI am so pleased you rescued Bo, I agree with you, he is a treasure, cats are. x
ReplyDeleteOh, Oh, OH! Your trash to treasure is the best ever. I have some of those myself and they are beyond value :-)
ReplyDeleteThis makes me want to cry, Pat, but in a good way. I'm so happy that sweet kitty has YOU! :-)
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila
