As a thyroid cancer survivor I was especially interested in this article about thyroid cancer in the current Spring issue: The Good Cancer? If you look at my blog's right sidebar I have a thyroid cancer ribbon which you can click on to view the American Cancer Society's website page which lists the signs and symptoms to look for regarding thyroid cancer.
I have been receiving Cure Magazine since it's inception in 2002, and I highly recommend it. As the magazine's motto states, "it combines science with humanity and it makes cancer understandable."
Thanks for the info. We have a cancer support group at work and I am going to pass this along in the event some of the group members are not aware of the magazine.
ReplyDeleteVery interesting publication...Thanks for the tip, Pat! :o) Happy Day ((HUGS))
ReplyDeleteHia Pat it would like a very useful magazine for cancer support. I'm sure someone reading this will find it useful as there days there are few families unaffected.
ReplyDeleteHi Pat...Bless you for being a cancer survivor...this magazine sounds like it is truly a support to all cancer survivors and people who are fighting it or who knows someone who is...thank you for telling us about it! And continued GOOD health to you!! ;-) Bo
ReplyDeleteThanks for this link, Pat!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info...my husband is a non-Hodgkins lymphoma survivor. It started right beside his thyroid. He had chemo and radiation and in the last year his thyroid quit functioning - doctor thinks from the radiation. DH is a 5 year cancer free survivor and we're thankful for that! Thanks again! PAM
ReplyDeleteWhish we have something similar here in Italy. Mom has survived breast cancer twice, we feel very lucky she's fine now, but we all remember only too well the feeling back then.
ReplyDeleteWhat a generous thing for them to do! Thank you for the information. I'm so glad that you find it so helpful. I only hope that great strides continue to be made.
ReplyDeleteI did not know about this Pat, since my daughter is a leukemia survivor, I will definitely check this out for info and support. Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteThanks for the link to the magazine Pat!
ReplyDeleteI don't think I knew this about you!
Thanks for the infor. I lost my dad to cancer 10 years ago, I looked after him for 9 months and during that time, the girls were barely 2 and 1 years old and for 9 months, I hardly saw the girls. It was a hard time and at that time, very little infor on cancer too. Have a great week Pat, much love /m
ReplyDeletePat, this is such 'good to know' info. I was the caregiver for both of my parents who died of cancer. I wonder if that applies. I'll check it out. Thank you for the heads up. I sure am glad you are a survivor Pat. BIG smile.
ReplyDeleteHugs...Jeanne

ReplyDeleteInteresting information, Pat. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Pat,
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for the information on this magazine.
Cancer has affected my family in so many different ways.
Thanks for the wonderful and kind words about my husband and the military.
It's such a mixed feeling for me about not having to move right now.
I'm very proud of him.
We don't know any of the exact details as of yet.
I'll let you know when I do.
~Happy Spring to you!
I hope to see more baby pics soon.
~Melissa :)
If a genie popped out of a bottle one of my three wishes would be a cure for cancer. For. Sure.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing, Pat!
Hi Pat, I did not realize you were a thyroid cancer survivor! I have had two dear friends diagnosed with thyroid issues within the last year---one for function of the thyroid and the other because of a growth which resulted in the removal of the thyroid. I have learned a lot about the disease through their experiences. I will pass this info along to them. I'm so glad you're OK!! L, Dana
