APRIL
"The roofs are shining from the rain,
The sparrows twitter as they fly,
And with a windy April grace
The little clouds go by.
Yet the back yards are bare and brown
With only one unchanging tree--
I could not be so sure of Spring
Save that it sings in me."

What colors in that bird! Truly exquisite...reminds me of the velvets of Victorian days. I know what Sara's thinking...this spring business can be so fickle. After days of warmth, we're back into the forties with a mention of snow in the forecast. Ugh.
ReplyDeleteThis is a great picture. I love that sweet birdie. Our weather is back and forth down here also.
ReplyDeletePat, You have such an amazing eye for photography! I hope warmer days are ahead for all of us. It's chilly here, with more rainy days in the forecast. :-(
ReplyDeleteHappy Spring!
ReplyDeleteLovely Pat! The weather here in NC shifts back and forth from warm to cold, but Spring is singing in me!
ReplyDeletePat, We had the rain but last night at 1 a.m. we also had the sirens! A tornado was spotted and the city sirens started at 1! Crazy!
ReplyDeleteI love New York! Yep, coming from the west - I think New York City is one of the most amazing places I have ever been. Loved your previous blog on the birds - amazing! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThanks for visiting my blog today.
We just enjoyed a beautiful spring day...it felt like summer. But nothing is for sure in April...be it NYC or B.C.!
ReplyDeleteSo what kind of bird is it?
What a lovely post Pat and I am feeling happy for everyone since the snow is well over, enjoy your beautiful sunshine...hugs/M
ReplyDeleteBRAVO ! It's getting to be Spring for everyone!
ReplyDeleteCarol
Awe, what a sweet poem! Nice photo too. Soon the trees leaf out:)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great photo---I wish it were still spring here - yesterday it was 90 at the beach....sometimes we get these random summer days, and I think come back Spring!
ReplyDeleteHi Judy
ReplyDeleteThe bird is a starling. They are common around here.
