Pink Saturday Scooter
When my husband and I were driving home from the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade last week (which you can read about by clicking on the highlighted words) we saw this wonderful pink Vespa scooter parked on a street in the Greenwich Village neighborhood of Manhattan! If you have ever visited Italy you'll know that this is the vehicle of choice in many cities, especially Florence and Rome, but it is a rare sight to see in New york City!
Of course when I saw it I yelled out "Pull over! Pink Saturday!" almost as a reflex, and then jumped out of the car to take these photos.
Wouldn't you love to tool around NYC on this pretty pink number? I would -- but I'd make sure to stay on the quiet side streets!
Beverly asked that we share a favorite holiday recipe today so please click on this link if you'd like to see a post I did two years ago about my favorite Christmas cookies. I make them every year!
To see more Pink Saturday posts please visit Beverly at the How Pink the Sound blog. Thanks Beverly for another week of pink fun!
I'm also having a give away for a 2.2 pound Jacques Torres dark chocolate "Big Daddy" bar on this post.
You have until midnight of December 9th, 2010 to enter by leaving a comment on that post!
Would you also like a chance to win $500 worth of books from Chronicle Books in their "Happy Hual-idays" promotion ending December 12th, 2010? See My Back Page blog for further information!
Well, first, how on earth did you make that header, it is amazing and I'm trying tho think of how you could have done it. I love the cool scooter, wouldn't you have loved to wait and see who came to drive it away? It had to be a very stylish woman! You are JUST like me!! It takes us an hour to drive ten minutes away, because I'm always hollering at hubby, STOP, BACK UP, TURN AROUND, BACK TWO BLOCKS!!! And other similar commands.
ReplyDeleteThat was so funny about the Pink Vespa and having to stop to get a picture. Don said he can't pass anything pink or blue anymore without thinking he needs to tell me so I can get a photo....lol....Love your choice for today's Pink Saturday.
ReplyDeleteThank Ginny & Donnie!
ReplyDeleteGinny the giant Chistmas ornaments are placed in a fountain in Manhattan as part of a Manhattan building's decorations. If you look through my "holiday" blog tags you'll see them in a post I did about NYC at Christmas!
Vespas are huge at the University of Minnesota - all the athletes have them - but they are not - pink! Now that pink vespa rocks! I,too love the header - so Christmas in NYC! I recognize the street and I must say I can just see you yelling, "Stop!"
ReplyDeleteI have a light yellow almost cream color vintage looking 1962 Vespa made in 2009. I got my motorcycle license last year on it. My hubby had asked me if there was anything I wanted (or wanted to do) that I hadn't done...so I said I always wanted one of those cute scooters that I saw in the 1960 movies in Italy. It just so happened that a Vespa store opened nearby us. My hubby had me taking the written test for a temp driving permit and signing up for the motorcycle course so fast I couldn't believe it. He even took the class with me even though he already had a motorcycle license. I was so thrilled when I passed the course.
ReplyDeleteThe PINK Vespa is fantastic...I always wanted one (any color, maybe red)...I'd only want to do the quiet side streets too!
ReplyDeleteI too noticed your header right away and thought, "Sweet, Pat decorates her tree and table with red balls." Then I looked more closely. Wow! Those are huge! But very very cool.
ReplyDeleteLove that Pink Vespa!
LoVe that hot little pink number! That is a friday's favorite for sure :-)
ReplyDeleteWouldn't you love to have a pink Vespa? That was a great shot!
