I have been a little quiet for a week because I had the opportunity to accompany my husband on a business trip to Belfast, Ireland, which is located in Northern Ireland. Northern Ireland is one of the four countries of the United Kingdom. Belfast is the capital of and largest city in Northern Ireland, as well as the second-largest city on the island of Ireland. (All photos will enlarge if clicked on once and then again when it opens on a new page)
This was the second time I visited Northern Ireland, but the first time that I had the chance to explore the beautiful, interesting, and at times complicated, city of Belfast. As you can see in the photo collage above it is a city full of Victorian charm and also modern conveniences. I'll be showing more of the city on my blog in the next few posts and some of the very scenic areas along the coastline Glens of Antrim and the Giants causeway
I hope you'll enjoy seeing this most beautiful area of Ireland!
Hi Pat, I caught up on your blog posts while you were gone --but didn't comment...
ReplyDeleteI've been waiting on you to get back... Can't wait to see more pictures of Ireland. You are one very lucky lady....

ReplyDeleteI also love Ireland. I went to Belfast during the early 70's when there was a lot of violence and unrest. We drove straight through the town and were not allowed to stop anywhere. I guess I just need to go again! Your photos are beautiful.

ReplyDeleteWelcome home, world traveller! I still need to see the Giant Causeway - and I never yearned for it as much as when I gazed on your breathtaking photo. My lead character in my new play is from war-town Belfast circa 1969. And she has the Irish magic.

ReplyDeleteIt's wonderful that your husband has a job that takes him to so many interesting places. Belfast looks like it has some buildings that might remind you of the buildings in New York. My sisters and I are hoping to take a bus trip together. I loved my trip to Ireland but have not been to Northern Ireland so I'm looking forward to seeing The Giant's Causeway through your camera's lens.
