I hope you all have a beautiful and happy Mother's Day this weekend!
As promised on this-click here-blog post, I wanted to show the souvenir I purchased from an antique dealer stand I saw in St. George's Market on a recent trip to Belfast, Northern Ireland.
It was on this table of goodies! Can you guess what caught my eye?
It was this Aynsley China loving cup commemorating the Queen Mother's ninetieth birthday .
..
... which was on August 4th, 1990.
Inside it reads:
1900- To Commemorate H.M.Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother's Ninetieth Birthday -1990
I always admired Queen Mother Mary while she was alive and I thought this cup would be a perfect cup to remember her and my trip to Belfast. I hope all Mothers will be treated like a Queen this Sunday!
Linking to a very Happy Pink Saturday event on Beverly's blog How Sweet the Sound
Please join me on Monday where I'll be continuing to show more of Northern Ireland's magical Causeway Coast and the Giant's Causeway.
Happy Mother's Day Weekend Pat-have fun:@)
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgous first picture, the colors are awesome!! Is it a crab apple tree? The mug is really fancy, will you actually use it, or just keep it as a keepsake?

ReplyDeleteHappy Mother's Day Pat. Hope the weekend is special for you. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Pat, I love the photo of the pink blooming tree. It is stunning. I think your purchase of the lovely cup to commemorate the queen Mother's birthday is so sweet. I always admired her too and was so sad when she passed away. Queen Elizabeth is certainly following in her mother's footsteps. She looks wonderful and so happy at the Royal Wedding. You are sentimental and that is such a nice attribute.
ReplyDeleteHappy mother's day Pat and enjoy your day.
Hugs, Jeanne
