Mom and Dad on their Wedding Day - 1944
I am very sad to announce the loss of my dear Mother. Her funeral took place today and as we mourned her death we also celebrated her life of 89 active and healthy years. Survived by four children and their spouses, eight grandchildren and the spouses of five, and twelve great-grandchildren, she was well loved and cherished by all.
Her heart simply gave out last week, and she went quickly. I am comforted that my husband and I, and my oldest brother and sister-in-law were by her side and prayed during her passing from this life to one of eternity. After being widowed for almost 40 years she is now finally reunited with my Dad in Heaven.
May the Angels lead you into paradise, Mom, and may you rest in peace.
"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you."
John 14:1-2
My dear Pat, my thoughts and prayers are with you and all your family at this time. It sounds as though your mother had a good life and exited it as peacefully as possible with those she lived close by her.
ReplyDeleteOh Pat. You were on my mind and heart today. I'm so sorry to hear about your loss but it's so sweet that your mom is in paradise. Your mom is so close to my mom in age. My mom will be 89 in April. Praying for you and yours that God will comfort you in your loss on this earth and fill you with hope for your future with Him in Paradise...
ReplyDeleteHugs...
Dear Pat,
ReplyDeleteYour mom was indeed a lucky lady to have led a long, full and active life....filled with lots of family who loved her and cared for her. What a blessing to be able to leave this world with family near by.....and what a great thing to know that her husband/your dad was waiting, with open arms, to welcome her home.
You look so much like your lovely mom in that photo. . .such a great gift she gave to you.
As I told you earlier, I am sorry for your loss, but I do know that you and your family have celebrated her life.
I attended a funeral today, too. Sadly, he was just 50 years old and left behind a wife and two boys in their early 20s. While I hurt so much for his family, I do know he led a hugely fulfilling life that touched so many people. . . and he was truly a servant to The Lord.
We never know when our time will come. . . we just must remember to make the most of each and every day.
Love to you.....dana
So sorry Pat to hear about the death of your mother. Glad all of the family could be there to celebrate her life.
ReplyDeleteLove that photo of your parents. You look like your mother, don't you?????

I recently read a quote from a man who had lost his mother to a heart problem while he was still fairly young:
ReplyDeleteMothers should be both indestructable and cuddly at same time.
We who have been blessed with the company of our mothers well into our own middle age and who know that we will enjoy our mother's presence throughout eternity can claim that our own mothers are the fulfillment of what he has longed for.
I wish that you miraculously could of been permitted to see the joyeous reunion of your parents within the gates of heaven. I can't help but believe it was even better that your most vivid imagining.
Pat,
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to hear about the loss of your mother. May the memories you have of her bring you comfort in the days ahead.

I'm so sorry for your loss. She must have been a wonderful lady. I lost my Mom at age 75, to heart disease - she had been widowed for nearly 38 years, so I understand what you said about her being united with your dad. She spoke of him at the end with excitement and passed quietly in the night with my husband and I sleeping in the hospital room by her side.
