It's All About the Bangs

I have a high forehead, so I've almost always worn bangs with every hairdo I've had throughout my life. When I looked at a photo taken last weekend, (you can read why I am wearing Minnie Mouse ears headband on this post), I realized my bangs need a little...who am I kidding.....they need a LOT of work!  I never really take the time to style my bangs and this tutorial may help me achieve the light feathered look that this model had, which I love!

Aren't these bangs lovely?  They belong to my beautiful daughter-in-law! Just look at how they draw attention to her bright blue eyes. Just stunning! This is a look I'd love to have!

  1. I don't have bangs...but my oldest daughter did recently and it was so cute on her. She is a hair stylist and wears her hair all sorts of ways.
    I love your bangs!!!
Thanks for the sweet, uplifting comment. I am going through some "stuff" here at home, and have been trying to muddle through.

  2. My two sisters always had bangs. I wanted them desperately but I have "cowlicks". When I've tried bangs, they just clump up into strange looking "things".
I don't think there is any help for me!!

    Best,
    Bonnie

  3. having had lines in my forehead, since my earliest remembrance, I have always been rather partial to bangs

of course it doesn't matter much now, as I've aged I've grown into my forehead lines :D

I still like my bangs though

    enjoyed your post

  4. I've had bangs for most of my life! My hair has thinned considerably so now I just sweep them to the side. :( I miss them, though, if for nothing else to hide the wrinkles in my forehead. (wow, talk about keeping it real). xo

  5. I do have bangs, have worn them most of my life. I recently learned the flat iron trick to keep them smooth and usually touch them up that way. I just had my hair cut yesterday, and my stylist did the same thing as on the video.

  6. Bangs are for other people but not for me. Each time in my adult years that I have opted to have bangs, I have regretted it within a week. I think it takes just the right texture and thickness in hair to pull them off and have them look good... Nope... I won't ever have them again.

  7. Yes, I've had to have bangs most of my life too.
I don't feel so bad now about my bangs being so uneven after seeing the video-ha!
Your DIL does have beautiful blue eyes, for sure!

  8. I have usually had partial bangs ---just on one side... Can't remember whether I have had bangs all the way across my forehead---but don't think I have... I do like bangs on certain people --but not all....

Poor ole Hillary Clinton desperately needs to do something with her hair. I loved her with short hair. Now she just looks OLD. Maybe she needs bangs... ha

  10. I used to have bangs and then I let them grow out. I've thought about getting them again but I haven't been brave enough to go for it yet.

  12. I am a bang girl (that doesn't quite sound right does it?)
In London they call them a fringe... We need an update with the new fringe style!

  15. I think the bangs they've shown would look cute on you. I have had bangs most of my adult life. They now help to hide the wrinkles a wee bit! I just hate it when a hairdresser cuts them too short as some want to do. I usually tell them never ever cut them above the eyebrows!

Your DIL has the prettiest blue eyes!

  17. I love bangs and have had them for years. My hair dresser thinks I look better without them so now I just sweep them to the side a bit.
