SOUP!
I love soup! I love to make soup and I love to eat soup. I think I could live on soup!
I make roasted butternut squash soup quite often, as it is easy to do, delicious and nutritious.
I love using my immersion blender right in the pot to puree all the cooked ingredients...
...and I love to use my nice large soup ladle to serve it right from the pot on a busy evening.
Here is a photo of my husband helping himself to a bowl of roasted butternut soup tonight. Click here to see my recipe.
On really busy nights, when I don't have any time to cook, I love opening a bag of Bertolli Frozen Meal Soups, as they taste home made and a rich hearty broth filled with all natural ingredients. They are available in four varieties: Chicken Minestrone, Roasted Chicken & Rotini Pasta, Tomato Florentine & Tortellini with Chicken, and Tuscan-Style Beef with Vegetables. The Tomato Florentine with Tortellini is our favorite! Have you tried any of the soups?
To celebrate National Soup Month Bertolli Frozen Meal Soup is hosting the "Ladles of Love" program, benefitting Feeding America on behalf of local food banks and helping to provide 400,000 meals($50,000) to those who need it most. Bertolli asks that you show your support towards reaching their goal of 25,000 facebook app "clicks" by clicking to fill their soup bowl on their facebook page at this link, and to pass the word on about their program through your blog, facebook page or twitter.
In return, Bertolli would like to send TWO coupons for a FREE Bertolli frozen meal, or frozen meal soup, and a beautiful stainless steel soup ladle like the one I use to ONE lucky reader of my blog! All you have to do is tell me that you clicked through on their "Ladle of Love" facebook tab to add another ladle to the total and help them reach their goal of 25,000 clicks. It’s free, quick and an easy way to help Bertolli feed those in need. I did it yesterday and it literally takes seconds to do. If you post this information on you blog with the Ladle of Love facebook link and let me know in a second comment, I'll give you a second chance at winning the prize.
The winner will be chosen by Random Number Generator from the comments I receive on this post, and will be announced on on Valentine's Day, February 14, 2012. Good luck, and please remember to let me know that you clicked through a "Ladle of Love" to help feed those in need.!

Edited February 14, 2012: The give away is closed. I had 59 entries and Random.org chose number 25. Carol, of the blog "There is Always Thyme to Cook" is the winner! Congratulations Carol! I will notify Bertolli that you are my winner and send your e-mail address to them so they can contact you for your address to send the stainless steel ladle and free Bertolli Frozen Soup coupons to you. Thanks to all who entered.
I'm so with you Pat. I can eat soup every day, just love the stuff. My father used to tease my mother and say she had a peasant's palette but the soups she used to make were fit for kings. LOL. Wishing you and your hubby and terrific day.
ReplyDeleteHi Pat, I haven't tried the Bertolli soups --but will have to try one sometime.... BUT--your Butternut Squash soup looks fabulous!!!!! YUM...

We are real soup eaters here too. If I can have a nice piece of bread to go with it...all the better.
ReplyDeleteYour soup varieties looks ever so scrumptious.
Your soups look wonderful, I love soup too, but do not make it that often as one pot lasts me for weeks when I divide it up and freeze it. xo
ReplyDeleteI'm clicking through. I like to make soup, too, but this winter has been warm and I haven't been as inspired. I think this weekend will be perfect for carrot and ginger soup.
ReplyDeleteLove your soups...beautiful to look at and yummy to ear!
ReplyDeletePat, I'm with you. I could live on soups, especially in the fall and winter. I've not tried Bertolli. I need to look for them in our grocery. ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteI def copied your recipe for the soup ~ it looks delish and I LOVE squash. Have you ever made Loaded Baked potato soup? That's our fall-back soup recipe this winter. ~ Robyn
ReplyDeleteYour soups look fabulous...and I would love to sample your roasted butternut squash soup. When it's just 'we two'...we dish our soup right from the pot as well.
ReplyDeleteThis is a cool idea, and I did go and click to add a ladle! We love soup more than anyone!!! We even eat it all summer and Phil has a bowl every night for his snack. We even used to eat nothing but soups every night for dinner! I have a whole cabinet shelf full of nothing but canned soup.
ReplyDeleteWow, all hose soups look delicious. We do eat soup several times a week but since `i am on this diet I have to be careful as I gain half a pound every time I eat it,:(((.IN winter we do eat a meal soup once a week like peasoup and brownbeansoup which are delicious. Just have some French bread with it and we have enough. I don;t think we have frozen Bertolisoup here but I am going to look in the supermarket. I have their pasta's and sauses and oliveoil so the name is very well known here. I just had breakfast but I am getting hungry when I see all these soups. LOL

I am so with you on the soup. I have a big pot simmering as we speak. It's all vegetables, fat free, and I love it. I really need an imersion blender.

ReplyDeleteBlessings & Aloha!
Thank you my friend, so very much for your lovely visit, sweet well wishes on our upcoming 30th & we are looking forward to the other family celebrations ahead...after being away from blogland, I was wondering if anyone would still stop by my place!)
I clicked on the facebook link . Your soup looks delicious !
ReplyDeleteI tried, but I don't belong to Facebook and don't really want to join. It wouldn't let me in without joining. Sorry, it's for a good cause and I would have like to have helped. Now I'm going to check out your butternut squash recipe. I love butternut squash!
ReplyDeleteI love soup as well - your soups look delicious! The other night I was at my daughter's and she decided to put broccoli soup in her crock pot and cook it overnight. I woke up several times because it smelled so good. No, we didn't have soup for breakfast!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing at Potpourri Friday!
ReplyDeleteI asked my friend, on Saturday of last week, if she knew a good butternut squash soup recipe. I should have known that I would find one here. Thank you so much for sharing your recipe. I agree with you on the Bertolli soups. They are delicious! And, what a worthwhile cause. Your soup pictures are magazine quality.
ReplyDeleteI continue to learn so much from my visits here. Thank you!
My husband and I both adore soup, and I create soups frequently from scratch because neither of us can handle all the sodium. It's tricky to make it tasty without a lot of salt, but so far I've been successful!
ReplyDeleteI think homemade soups cannot be beat. YUM!
ReplyDeleteOops...
ReplyDeleteI forgot my A+ for Ladles of Love...
A+
Good morning Pat, I too could live on soup. I love to make it and I especially love to eat it as well. I always make a huge pot when I make it and I never get tired of eating it until it is gone or frozen. Thankfully Bill loves it too.
ReplyDeleteI have been working on my scrap book program. Loving it too.
I'm on my way to click on the facebook thingy for the soup ladle.
Wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day.
xoxo, Jeanne
I must get myself an immersion blender instead of using my blender. Last weekend my daughter had her annual soup swap. Everyone bring 3 quarts of homemade soup and their recipe and tells the story behind the soup. Two quarts to swap and one quart to taste. Prize for the most popular soup is a golden Laddel that is all decorated with fake jewels. Draw numbers to decide the order of the swap. I made all the homemade breads and desserts. It was such an enjoyable girls night out especially since all the participants also donated cans of soup for our local soup kitchen. I would love to win your contest!
ReplyDeleteThanks Pat! I'm so thrilled to win. I can't wait to give those soups a try!
ReplyDeleteHello.
ReplyDeleteNot so keen on butternut squash, but I love soups. My wife makes them a lot...especially now that she has braces & it's more difficult for her to chew on anything too hard.
Great presentation.
Thanks for sharing.
Love Has Seeped Into My Heart
