Postcards From Alaska

I'm so sorry that it has been a few weeks since I last blogged. It has been a busy summer in many different ways. Life certainly has its ups and downs, and if you have been following my Mille Fiori Favoriti facebook page you might have read an update I left there a week ago that I had a bad case of bronchitis and that my husband is presently undergoing cancer treatment.  I've recovered, and my husband is doing well, and we are optimistic that his cancer has been found early and he will be in full remission after treatment.  In happier news, we also went on a wonderful long-anticipated land and sea trip to Alaska!  The Coral Princess cruise ship we traveled on is in the photo above.

Alaska is full of spectacular beauty and rugged wilderness.

Every place we visited, from Fairbanks to Ketchikan, was a "dream come true" experience!

We learned so much about life in Alaska...

...and enjoyed all our excursions along the way from quaint towns...

I will show more from our Alaska travels on a few future blog posts and I look forward to catching up on your blogs. It's good to be back!

I hope your summer has so far has been happy and healthy!

  2. Pat - blogging is my only form of social media, so I wasn't aware of the health issues for you and your husband. Sounds like you both have turned the corner - thank God! Alaska is on our bucket list, and your pictures re-affirmed that desire. Thanks for returning to Mosaic Monday with such a delightful post!

  3. We were on the Ruby Princess last fall and I loved seeing all your photos! Our itinerary wasn't quite the same as yours so I enjoyed seeing places we didn't go. I've been drinking my morning coffee this weekend out of my Red Dog Saloon cup.....which I bought here in Irving at Goodwill before our cruise last year!

  10. I'm glad to hear you have recovered from the bronchitis and that your husband has responded well to his cancer treatment/surgery. I have missed a good deal of facebook (and blogs) with limited internet this summer at the lake, so I think this is news to me. I'm so glad you were able to go on your Alaska trip -- it certainly is beautiful and so wonderful to see this now as I worry about the climate change and the impact it will make on places such as this.

Sending good wishes for continued and full healing.
