New York City Home

I was looking through my photo files this weekend and came across these four iconic views of New York City that were taken at different times of the day and in different weather conditions. I thought they would be perfect for Mosaic Monday.
In the two top photos the city heartbeat throbs and pulses across the river, with diamond lights displayed on a velvet sky.
In the bottom left photo  Lady Liberty holds her light high in an orange twilight harbor, while on the right the Brooklyn Bridge stands solid, silent, cold and grey on an overcast winter day.
They are views I see often, yet never tire of.  It's my city of lights and contrasts, colors and neutrals, ever changing yet always the same.  It's home.

Be sure to join Mary at The Little Red House blog today for Mosaic Monday!

Fantastic pics Pat. It's amazing what a different lighting will do to a familiar scene to make it fresh and striking again.

What a beautiful mosaic Pat. I love the twilight harbor shot, the light is gorgeous. And I love the contrast of these with the intimate neighborhood shots that you show us each week. Have a great week! Kathy

Oh how I love NYC! I'm a native NYer who now lives in Fl. Although I love my new home (11 years here) I still miss those beautiful lights!
There's a fairly new song out i think it's called "Let's here it for NY" It makes me home sick every time I hear it!
Thanks for the big beautiful city lights!

Have to say, the skyline is so breathtaking :) Gorgeous views, your shots are fabulous, Pat! I used to love driving in, as a kid, with my parents, on the LIE, at night, and I was in awe of the sight of the city!

Beautiful pictures, Pat I love to take the same picture at different times of the year..
Since I was a kid I would always wonder about the people who lived in the apts you could see as we drove across the bridge at night. What was their life like..having all those cars whizzing my your window 24 hours a day? I guess they didn't notice after awhile!
And comment 5..LOL..a yam and sex??? :) I know you will be removing it! I get the ugg boot ads on mine frequently!

Scrumptious! And my favorite remains The Statue of Liberty...that's an amazing shot!

I'm late catching up on this weeks MM. I love these shots Pat, you asked about the swan mosaic I made with the swan photo as the background a few days ago and I meant to reply to you. Let me know if you found out how to do this, but it is in Picasa, settings, background options. you can chose a solid colour background or click on one of your photos in the mosaic and click on use image, Kathy xoxo.
