Quotes for a Pandemic

"Every day may not be good, but there is something good in every day."
--unknown

"The beautiful spring came, and when nature resumes her loveliness, the human soul is apt to revive also."
--Harriet Ann Jacobs

"The world is indeed full of peril, and in it there are many dark places, but still there is much that is fair, and though in all lands love is now mingled with grief, it grows perhaps the greater."
-- J.R.R. Tolkien

"Going out into nature was one outlet that I had, which truly allowed me to calm down and not think or worry."
 -- Richard Louv

"The best remedy for those who are afraid, lonely or unhappy is to go outside, somewhere where they can be quite alone with the heavens, nature, and God."
--Anne Frank

"When life is sweet, say thank you and celebrate.  When life is bitter, say thank you and grow."
-- Shauna Niequist

I hope these favorite photos and the quotes will give you some hope and inspiration as we continue to stay at home during this COVID-19 pandemic.

My state of Colorado is relaxing some restrictions tomorrow, with our governor's executive order called "Safer At Home." You can read what that entails here. However, the county I live in, as well as a few other counties in Colorado, will continue restrictions until May 8th.

 Be safe, happy, and healthy!

Comforting thoughts and beautiful photos to encourage us! Texas is relaxing some restrictions as well. We are in the country now and the pandemic seems farther away than it does when we are in the city. Probably because there is so much more space in the country and not nearly as many people. Only one case of Covid 19 in all of Falls county where the ranch is.

Pat - this is terrific from start to finish! I oohed and aahed out loud at the daffodil picture - the light is incredible. My favorite quote of the group is from Shauna Niequist.

Our governor has entered phase one of relaxing the restrictions, and people seem more inclined to stay home now than when they were told to! Go figure!

Thanks for an inspiring/calming post for everyone at Mosaic Monday!

My governor, Brian Kemp, has been all over the news since last week's executive order to open up certain businesses last Friday and again today, with the rest of retail allowed to open Friday May 1st. And he has made an order that the local counties cannot override his order and since my county and city the HOTSPOT of Albany, my mayor and county commission not too happy right now. And worse? I work for a mall, in the mall office, but its a nightmare of a situation for us. On one hand, we don't want the tenants to suffer (or their employees) due to the shelter in place orders, but on the other hand I and many others feel it was too soon on Friday for nail salons, barbershops, gyms, bowling alleys, massage therapy places to open for business. Today dine in restaurants are allowed to open. Our numbers have not gone down 14 days in a row and we fear a big Uptick in cases with a few short weeks... gonna by ugly...

Oh, these quotes are so apropos for this day, this time. I, too, love the out-of-doors, finding it the calm, the delightful, the joy all wrapped in the hands of God. I find Anne Frank's quote so ... what's the word I am looking for...so hard! That is not it, but anyway...here she was confined for so long, yet she was well aware of what she truly needed in her attic closet, her camp, her last years. Thanks. ~ linda

Lovely photos and great quotes. Yes, there is something good in every day. Some days we just have to look a little harder for it.

These are great, the Shauna Niequist quote is my favorite.

We are loosening up here kind of, the state has loosened up and Tulsa is lagging a little. Because of my MIL and my brother, who are both at risk, we personally are extending our isolation until June 1.

Meaningful quotations and beautiful photographs! I know we need to stay positive but it’s not easy when we see the number of casualties going up and still no remedy for the virus. But we need to keep our chins up.

I'm glad your county is hanging on a little longer. I know you will be very careful but I'll be thinking extra good thoughts for you. Our lockdown is more or less till the 15th of May but some places are gently opening. We'll see how that goes...

I love each and every beautiful photo and the quotes are wonderful and inspiring. Thanks for this.

They've relaxed some restrictions here too so now you can get your dog a haircut or go golfing.
Some powerful quotes and Anne Frank certainly puts things in perspective.
I reread the one by Tolkien, didn't realize what an optimist he was.

Your photos and choice of quotes have uplifted me, thank you very much. A few restrictions are being lifted in California. Nearby counties have already extended the stay-in-place to the end of May. It's still out whether our county and/or Gov. Newsome will. Yes or no, the Husband and I will continue to hunker down. Hope all goes will for us all. Take care.

I live in Illinois about 45 minutes west of Chicago near the Fox River. I use to live in Chicago and then a suberb of same, but I've decided to go further west where I met my husband of 20 yrs. now, but we've known each other for almost 30. I hope you're happy in Colorado and I hope you share your wonderful pictures of your new home with us. So far you're doing a beautiful job. Thank you so much for sharing. God be with you & bless you and yours.

Thanks for the inspiring quotes and beautiful nature shots, Pat. I love the little twins coming for a drink. We are having some reopening in Summit County tomorrow, but Bob and I will continue to isolate. I don't know if you saw it on the news, but 8 workers in our Breckenridge City Market tested positive. Stay well!
