Birthdays Are Good For You!

Birthdays are good for you. Statistics show that the people who have the most live the longest. ~ Father Larry Lorenzoni

Today is my birthday! I celebrate another year of life!

Each day brings new blessings, and each birthday a sense of joy and accomplishment. Growing older has taught me that there is so much more I want to learn, to see, to feel, and to do. I feel as if my purpose in life now is to reap the harvest and carefully preserve it to nourish my soul, body and mind.

Growing older is a privilege. It may have brought me grey hair, weaker eyes, achy joints and a thicker waist, but it also brought a sense of freedom and expectation and a respect for myself that I didn't have when I was younger.
The things I had concern about years ago seem trivial now compared to having good health, more time to spend with family and friends, and anticipation for the many good things yet to look forward to such as becoming a grandparent and my husband's retirement in a few years.

God had blessed me with a loving husband and children, and I am grateful and thankful. They have always been my focus, my fulfillment, and my truest treasures.

"For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." Matt 6:21

These beautiful roses were a surprise sent to me this morning from my son and daughter-in-law! Gorgeous roses for a June birthday. They smell so sweet! I love their assorted colors and sizes as if they were fresh picked from a garden. Thank you V & V!

As is a tale, so is life: not how long it is, but how good it is, is what matters. ~ Seneca

This very thoughtful gift is from my daughter! As a surprise she had all my digital photos from our trip to Ireland printed, and she placed them all in three albums. Each album has a folder that can hold the brochures and paper mementos from our trip, and there is space on the side of each photo where I can write its description. Thank you L!

Thank you dear family and friends, and all who read this blog!

Turning 55 today has brought me happiness beyond measure, and it's all because of you!

Well, Happy, Happy Birthday to one of my favorite blogging buddies. We are the same age - that is until I turn 56 next month. ;-)

In fact, I just had a slice of birthday cake for you. One of the girls in our department had a birthday, so we celebrated her. She just turned 25. I think I can remember 25.

I agree with everything you said. Life just keeps getting sweeter. I wish happiness and good health.

Happy birthday, Pat! My goodness, you don't look a day over 30! I can hardly believe that we are nearly the same age. Someone's doing something right and it isn't I! LOL!

Your gifts are many and wonderful. One of them is to be able to clearly see your blessings. That is one of the very best.

I know that you'll create a beautiful day with your family and friends. It's the beginning of one of the best years ever!

You are just a little spring chickie---I am 60! Happy Birthday to You! I agree with you, it's more important to be grateful for good health, happy family relationships and dear friends. My sister died when she was only 40 years old. It put the idea of numbers of years lived in a whole new light. I hope you had a terrific day celebrating your wonderful life.

Pat, Very happy belated Birthday, but this is still your birthday week! Your flowers and gifts were wonderful. I agree with your statement about things getting sweeter. There are different challenges, but I am able to look at some things very differently now that I'll be 59 in September. God is so good!

Happy Birthday to you. I turn 65 on Saturday and it will be lonely as I'm 500 miles away from children and grandchildren. But will see them the following week.
I'll have a hostess cupcake in your honor on the way home from the Library. Have a great week.

I'm a bit late with Happy Birthday wishes. But just as heartfelt, as if on time.

Yes, the older we got, our priorities do change. Health becomes one of the tippy top. :-))))

Beautiful flowers and you took beautiful photos, of them.
