I am a big fan of Williams Sonoma, known for their gourmet foods and professional-style cookware products. I shop through their web site, catalog and stores. I admit that their prices can be high on many items, however, so I love to bargain hunt and usually scour the sale section of their web site or look first at the sale section in their stores. Lucky are the people who have a Williams Sonoma Outlet near them, where they can go to find bargains all the time!
I was so excited to find these "Stack and Fill" Star shaped pancake molds for sale recently for less than $6! They made my husband and my Valentine breakfast fun this past weekend.
Buttermilk Pancakes
Ingredients:
2 eggs
2 cups all-purpose flour, sifted
2 Tbs. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
2 1/2 cups buttermilk
4 Tbs. (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 to 2 Tbs. vegetable oil or nonstick cooking spray
Maple syrup for serving
Directions:
In a bowl, using an electric mixer, beat the eggs on medium speed until frothy. Add the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, buttermilk, melted butter and vanilla. Stir just until the batter is smooth and no lumps of flour remain; do not overbeat.
Heat a griddle over medium-high heat until a few drops of water flicked onto the surface skitter across it. Lightly grease the griddle and the inside surface of the pancake molds with vegetable oil, or spray with nonstick cooking spray. Set the molds on the griddle and heat until hot.
Pour about 1/2 cup batter into the large star mold, 1/3 cup of the batter into the medium mold, and two tablespoons in to the small mold. Cook until bubbles form on top and the batter is set, about 2 minutes. Remove the molds and, using a spatula, flip the pancakes. Cook until golden brown on the other side, about 2 minutes more.
Keep warm until all the pancakes are cooked.
Repeat with the remaining batter, adding more oil to the griddle as needed. Serve with maple syrup.
Makes 12 pancakes; serves 4.

Hi PAt! I've never seen those before, they look terrific. What a great idea. Pancakes are one of my favourite food groups:))
Cheers, Shelagh
Pat I've never seen these before either, and I love them! Running to the Williams Sonoma store that just opened in our town to look for some today!
I'm in my lunch break right now, nothing so yummy, just a green salad and some pineapple, and I'm fainting on my keyboard looking at those pancakes!!!!
Thanks for your comment on my Oscar post, I thought that taping it on a cd and then watch it on my pc should have worked, I don't understand anything about different kind of braodcasting!
I'm going to have to start shopping there. I love your pancake shapes. Thanks for the recipe. Can't wait to try this.
Paz (who's hungry now after eating breakfast *sigh*)
Good Morning, Pat. Of course you know there will now be a run on these Stack and Fill Star pancake molds! :) I'm glad they added to your Valentine breakfast---little Leo will LOVE to have some star shaped pancakes when he's a little older and visiting his Nonna in Brooklyn!
I also enjoyed your previous post and tour. That angel window box was amazing---and so was that great post of yours!
Hope you're having a super-duper week! Dana
I love Williams Sonoma. In fact, I love just about any foodstuffs' store. And gadgets...well, you should see my cupboards, lol. These look like a fun addition to yours.
Oh, WOW...this is fantastic, Pat! My hubby LOVES pancakes. I call him the Pancake King...LOL! He makes the best American-style pancakes this side of the Atlantic. I must show him your pancakes here. Thanks for the tasty delight today! :o) Happy Day ((HUGS))
So pretty! What a beautiful presentation they make, which would probably be lost on my darling. He "puts up with" my need to have things attractive, but he's really all about the taste. I, on the other hand, think that things taste better when lovingly presented.
MMMMM- any leftovers??
My husband loves Williams Sonoma, and we both love pancakes! And blueberries, and whipped cream?? Oh my!
Oh, how pretty & I'm thinking they would really be lovely for a 4th of July breakfast. I think I'm going to have to go check out my Williams Sonoma store.
I love those star pancake molds. There's a Williams Sonoma store in Tucson, quite a drive from my house. I only go about once a year but I'm a sucker for all things Williams Sonoma and spend hours walking around. Thank you for sharing the recipe for the buttermilk pancakes.
I am definitely coming to your house to live, Pat! LOOK at those pancakes! Amazing job you did there... they are picture book perfect! Oh, YUM!
We don't have an outlet, but we do have a store. Makes me want to run over there. Do you think I could possibly learn to cook through osmosis from hanging around you? I guess the answer is no since it never happened from hanging around my mother, grandmother, and aunt! LOL!
Oh, if wishes were horses, I could make those pancakes and have them turn out like yours! :-)
XO,
Sheila
Mmmm, your pancakes look delish as well as pretty. I bought a waffle maker at Williams Sonoma a couple of years ago that I love.
I MUST HAVE PANCAKES ASAP!
Thanks for the sweet wishes on our Anniversary! ;)
Beautiful pancakes...and the first time I have ever seen them shaped like stars! What a fun idea. We don't have a Williams Sonoma anywhere nearby...but I will check out their website.
I love Williams and Sonoma. It's my weakness....I bought a Panini grill this winter...
I love those star shaped cutters. They would be so cute for my little boys. I make pancakes weekly.
Now, I know what will be on my list for this weekend....I'm off to the city, but can't go without stopping at W& S
What a dream to have star shaped pancaces for breakfast. I have never seen something like that before.
Something more to love about pancakes. As if they aren't good enough...now one can stack and fill? Oh happy maple syruppy day! :-) Yours look incredible.
Your pancakes look sooo much more appetizing than the William & Sonoma ones!! I love pancakes...I can see how good yours were...yumm! I love the star cutters...so fun. I know another little guy who is going to love eating them too;)
Hi! I came by to say thanks for the birthday wishes! It's always nice to "meet" new (to me) bloggers! You know that I've got to go to my Williams-Sonoma to see about getting those pancake molds! They are awesome...my daughter would love those! You have a sweet husband to give you 35roses...I probably have to wait for my casket spray to get that many! :O)
What a cool idea, could be used for July 4th too! I love blueberries and made some blueberry scones this morning, they were great, problem is I ate two! Williams Sonoma is my favorite cooking store, I would love to work there.

Pat,
You are too impressive! Those pancakes look awesome.
These look so pretty and tasty. I'll bet your husband loved them for Valentine's Day. I have never seen them either.
Those look like fun! Connor loves pancakes...I wonder what he would say if I made them with one of those?

Hi Pat...you are a gourmet cook for sure! I love that you share your recipes & ideas with us... Thanks! These pancakes look so "Martha Stewart-ish" ;-) Bo
Oh Pat they look sooo good! Now I would think that's the kind of pancakes to have if you're watching your weight. If the center is filled with fruit it's healthy!! I think I need to get some of those!! Your photos look so great, like you could just reach in and pick up the plate, filled of course!
Hugs, Sherry
Now that is soo cool Pat! I love the way it looks, the pancakes look scrumptious, I want to dig a fork in that pretty stack right now! I'll have to check more closely at WS.
What time is breakfast? I'll bring the maple syrup!
Yum. I wonder has your little (star) grandson been served these?

Looks delicious..
We have a Williams Sonoma store in Toronto. Now I have reason to visit the store and perhaps find the star shaped pancake molds.
Thank you for your post and your pancakes look great.
Our grandchildren are very precious. They are angels and a present from heaven. Your pictures of your little angels are lovely!
- Cheers Gisela.
Blueberry pancakes are way up on my list of favorites. Maybe they could be the stars on the list (hehe). Leave it to you to find a way to make breakfast more fabulous.
♥, Susan
very cool!
Oh, these are so pretty! I love pancakes and make them with organic flour, oats, flax-meal, nutmeg and cinnamon. They are a staple around here on weekends. I will have to see if I can get these cutters.
Kat
Hi Pat,
Happy to share the ♥ making process. You just hold the Alt & 3 key on the number pad down at the same time releasing the number key first.
Darn - there are probably none left after this tantalizing post!
Great blog!
