Look Who Turned One!

I have been away for a week to cold and snowy Colorado to attend a very special birthday party! My grandson turned one year old! His Mommy made a very special Hummingbird flavor cake just for him, which was made with his favorite fruits of pineapple and banana.

His first taste of icing....

A little taste of the cake ....

...and finally a full two fisted indulgence of half of the cake! "Yummy, Mommy, this is so good!"

I think "L" loved his birthday cake and having many friends and family there to celebrate his happy day with him!

Happy First Birthday sweet little "L" ... your Nonna and Nonno love you so much!

We flew back to New York yesterday evening -- the week went by so quickly!

Now I'll be busy, as we still have to buy our Christmas tree and I have to start doing some decorating and baking, along with catching up on everyone's blogs. It's good to be busy, so I won't miss my little guy all at once, but I know it will take some time for the part of my heart I left in Colorado to follow me home again, so please be patient with me a little longer until then.

I'm looking forward to seeing all the wonderful Christmas spirit on your blog ...it is such a wonderful time of the year!

What a gorgeous little boy and I can see he loved his cake. LOl. Colorado, that is indeed a far end from New York. It is wonderful today that we have skypes and hyves and MSN to be in contact as much as you want with your family.

Welcome back, Pat. Your grandson is precious. I can't wait till I can blog about a grandchild but I guess I'll have to settle for a May 7th wedding first...then we'll see when they can provide that grandchild for me! I'm already 65 so I am impatient.

How wonderful that you got to be there for that special one. When our son and family lived in New York, we went about every other year since they have been in Texas I have been three times, HH has not been at all and son and wife and our grandson have been to Ky. once. That means HH has not seen his son or grandson for 12 years, only on web cam and that seems to be okay with them. It is not with me. My grandson has become a man since I saw him last and my son might be a grandpa before we see them again. I am just not used to that. Our DIL will not travel.

Fabulous First Birthday Fotos! How exciting that you were there with your grand baby boy! My almost 8-mo-old granddaughter, Emily, lives in Arizona while I, her Nonna, live in snowy Michigan. But Emi, Mommy and Daddy are moving back to the midwest in the spring and I feel so blessed! Happy Holidays to you.

Time flies...I can't believe your little man is already one. I wish you could bottle the time to make it stand still...just a little bit, at least.

P.S. I am sending the link you your Sesame Street post to my friend Julia who is crazy for Ernie and company. :-)

How wonderful you could be there to celebrate! (Doesn't look like you were going to get much of that cake though!) He is SOOOO cute! I realized I was grinning like an idiot as I scrolled through.

(Yeah, there ought to be a law about grandkids living too far away. :) )

Hope the foot is healing.

Well my friend, I live in Colorado! I didn't realize that you were coming out this way! Did you get to see our beautiful Rocky Mtns? I live in the northeastern corner of Colo....close to the Nebraska border...it's flat farm land here! Hehe! But we are only a couple of hours away from the mtns.

So happy that you had a wonderful visit with your grandson and family, my friend!

Warmest wishes and Christmas blessings to you and your family!
