I spied this beautiful vintage copper and cast iron stove as part of a display at the Williams Sonoma store inside the Time Warner Center at 10 Columbus Circle a few weeks ago when I visited the Discovering Columbus art exhibit. (You can read about that fascinating and unusual art exhibit on this link.) How I wish this were my stove! I love its design and double ovens. Every year when I am cooking for Thanksgiving I wish I had two ovens, don't you wish the same?
The next few days will be busy ones as we gather our favorite recipes, take out the good china, and work hard in front of our ovens to prepare the feast. Afterwards, we reverse the process and try to think of creative ways to use up leftovers. Safe travels to those beginning the journey to, and from, family and friends' homes. Enjoy this wonderful celebration where we gather to give thanks for all our blessings!
Some thoughts for the day...
"Know that even when you are in the kitchen, our Lord moves amidst the pots and pans."
~ St. Teresa of Avila
"There is something in every season in every day, to celebrate with thanksgiving."
~Gloria Gaither
"True gratitude, like true love, must find expression in acts, not words."
~ R Mildred Barker
"As we pause to thank Him for the blessings of the past year, we must not forget to thank Him for the lessons we have learned through our difficult times. We are not to be thankful for just the pleasant, easy things, but ALL things."
~ Millie Stamm
"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever."
~ Psalm 106:1
For each new morning with its light
For rest and shelter of the night,
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends...
...Father in heaven, we thank Thee!
For health and food, for love and friends,
For everything Thy goodness sends...
...Father in heaven, we thank Thee!
~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Wishing you all a very Happy Thanksgiving!

Beautiful post Pat...Happy Thanksgiving.
Really beautiful, beautiful post. I wish more people think like you beautiful, thank you
Good Afternoon Pat, I loved all the wonderful old cookers you showed us, there was one which reminded me of my grandmother Ivy's cooker. Like you I especially love the vintage copper stove. I am lucky, I do have two ovens, and when our friends and family visit the ovens are in constant use. It makes planning meals a lot easier. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving with your family. Best Wishes Daphne
Wonderful post, Pat, and I love all the old stoves. Just think of the many meals that were cooked on those in the past --probably quite a few Thanksgiving dinners. Have a wonderful day tomorrow!

Great post! Pat, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
What a fun theme for a post. Sure wish I had a double oven at this time of year, but my husband talked me out of it in favor of one larger oven. Sigh. Have a great Thanksgiving!
Really fun stoves Pat! That looks like a great store to visit! Happy Thanksgiving-enjoy the parade:@)
I'd love any one of those stoves. And also the Williams-Sonoma store. I want everything in there. And I don't cook much.
What an interesting collection of stoves/ovens you have gathered here, Pat, and I love all the Thanksgiving quotes as well. Wishing you and yours a very blessed and happy Thanksgiving Day.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, too!

brings back a lot memories seeing these old stoves, I remember a few in my grannies homes.. Happy Thanksgiving!
That copper stove is lovely. Hope you have a great day!
Oh the meals that have been prepared on some of those vintage stoves...though they surely do look pristine! Hope that you enjoyed a very happy day and that you have all your favorites for leftovers.
Such a cool share Pat! I love those old stoves, and the quotes are awesome! I love the Saint Teresa of Avila quote. I feel that way and always have when I do laundry. It is one of my favorite things to do! Hope your day was spent with those you love!
Pat, stopping by to say hi. Hope your Thanksgiving was festive. Oh, how we wish we had two ovens. LOL The chef would love a copper store such as the one in the photo. I smiled at the second photo. Our first home came with its original stove ~ a Chambers that looked just like this one. It was amazing with a deep well, griddle in the middle, and a warming oven on the side. Way ahead of its time!
Happy Holidays ............Sarah
Wonderful stoves and wonderful quotes to remind us of the meaning of Thanksgiving. I'm home now...got here on the 16 so I had Thanksgiving with my three sons, my daughter-in-law and the granddogs. I'm going to be at the ultrasound on Dec 12th...very excited about that. Miss India, though, & hope to return in May, once I meet my grandchild and get skype in place on their computer,
I love that quote from St. Teresa of Avila!!! I should put it in my kitchen!
Love all those antique range/stoves! I just got one for my "summer" kitchen a.k.a. the garage! I'll use it mostly for canning.
I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Have you sold your home yet?
Hope you had a great Tgiving, Pat.
we got to see our son and his 5 kids, so that was something to be thankful for!
Love that copper pot!
I have 2 ovens, but honestly, I only use them a few times a year.
