A Flower Rainbow

In my last blog post (click here)  I showed some of  the beautiful pink flowers I photographed on my last visit to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, along with some of the cool green landscapes in the garden and a few amazing and unusual trees.  Now I'd love to show more of the rainbow of flowers I saw in bloom in the garden, arranged by color combinations:

I saw arrays of  bright blue and purple flowers and ...

...wonderful white flowers and ....

                                                         ...... sunny yellow flowers and.....

.... radiant red flowers and....

... outstanding orange flowers!

The Brooklyn Botanic Garden is a flower lover and photographer's delight!

All of the murals are beautiful but I have to save I love the purple one best as I'm heavily influenced by the thistle.

What gorgeous flowers, Pat. I needed to see all of those colors today since I have been grieving since Thursday over the death of a very good friend. We are going to Atlanta tomorrow to her funeral.

SO--thanks for making me smile.

Betsy

Pat, I've bookmarked this post and saved some of the images. First, they are simply gorgeous. Second, I'm wracking my brain for a design for a surface embroidery class I'm taking and I think I've just found my design for the second half of the class. Thank you!

Pat, this would be a post to return to on one of those snowed in winter mornings. How gorgeous these photos are and the bees and the butterly make them even more splendid. Thanks for showing me some memes with which I wasn't familiar!

Oh what lovely photographs and all arranged by color...too scrumptious to even absorb. I saw a few more flowers this time that I recognized. The bee balm is healthy and vibrant. I wonder what they do at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden about Japanese beetles the buggers. Maybe they have such information... I'll check.

Oh, Pat, how beautiful! I love your mosaics and making them by color was brilliant! The purple and white ones are my favorites. I just got back from my trip to NYC. Not enough time to do everything, of course, but I saw a lot. I took well over 200 photos and had a really hard time choosing a few for a post. I'll be posting on my trip on the day of my new party, Travels Near And Far, which will post on 8/14. I invite you to join; I know you have travelled extensively as well as travelled within your own community - there are lots of things you could show. Again, great collages, Pat!!!

The way you sent through all of your flower shots form the gardens and gathered them together by color for the mosaics. They turned out so attractively. You really do have an eye for composition. What a lovely post filled to the brim with grand captures. Wish I could smell the roses through the computer screen.Genie

What a wonderful serie of mosaics you have. And all so beautiful. You know it's so funny. I had the same idea, made color by color mosaics but I only show red today. The blue and yellow and white I keep for other weeks. LOL.
Have a great week.

The Emerald Ash-borer has been detected in New York as well. Over the next 10 years most of our ash trees will be gone. Please read my new article on my blog.
