My New Blog Feature

I have been an avid New York Times reader for many years.
I may not agree with all of it's editorials and points of view all the time, but I try to read it with an open mind, and there is not a day that goes by that I don't learn something from reading it.

I am always entertained and educated by it's wonderful writers and revolving variety of columns and features on everything from World News, US/ N.Y Regional, Business, Technology, Science, Health, Sports, Opinion, Arts, Fashion & Style, Travel, Dining & Wine, Home & Garden, Book Review, and The Sunday Magazine. It is a veritable treasure trove to explore, and my scissors are always nearby, as I cut "this and that" out of the paper for future reference. Very often I will want to blog about something I read in the Times, but I get distracted by another topic and the moment has passed.

So I've decided to put a link on my right side bar called "New York Times Article of the Day" with a click able link underneath that will bring you to the NY Times online article that I've chosen for that day that I hope will be of interest. I hope to keep it light hearted and educational and hopefully inspiring, with maybe something serious from time to time. I don't promise to change the link every single day, but I will try to change it a few times a week.

I love to share New York City with everyone who reads my blog so I hope you will also enjoy reading these articles from the premiere New York City newspaper! The New York Times was founded in 1851, and the newspaper has won 98 Pulitzer Prizes, more than any other newspaper, and The New York Times trails in circulation only to USA Today and The Wall Street Journal.

Today article is from the Dining & Wine section and is the recipe for Chocolate Chip Cookies as adapted by chocolatier Jacques Torres. The photo in today's newspaper made my mouth water!

Yes, I am still on a diet, but perhaps you are not and would like to try this delicious recipe?

Enjoy!

Great idea, Pat. In fact, being the NYT online reader that I am, I had thought of the same thing. I'll look forward to it. :)

I'm looking forward to learn more about New York. I've only been there once in my lifetime so far and I loved it. I would love to return for a visit some day.

As for the cookies and the diet?...chocolate is ALWAYS an exception for the diet. ;-)

Hi Pat, I've done the 7 summer songs. Loved listening to the Gershwin just now on your blog. Perfect for NY.

I blagged a freebie and got to stay in NY years ago and walked round taking a district a day. I think it will be so interesting to read the news over there.

Great idea to feature an article of the day. I've saved the recipe. Thanks. I've never been to Jacques Torres's store. I have to go one of these days.

Pat, thank you so much for your kinds words on my blog today. My mother was so special and I am glad I got to share something about her. I am so thankful for you sharing NYC. I hope someday to get there. I have been to one of the airports several times, but never into the city. It seems like there is so much to see and I love how you show us the things that wouldn't be so obvious to us.

Hi Pat,

I am a BIG Times reader. On Sunday, I read the real estate section first so I can dream about where I'd live in Manhattan...then the Week in Review...then the Book Review...then Sunday Styles...then the Business section interview...always the same way of
attack! Hee-hee!

When my Dad was a young construction worker, he fell off the top of the NYT building and broke his nose in a safety net--we always say thank goodness NYT had the net up! Our fave paper!
:0)

I used to read the LA Times everyday, but now I just watch the news on TV. Sad isn't it? I'm glad you're doing this :)
