A gentle word, like summer rain,
May soothe some heart and banish pain,
What joy or sadness often springs
From just the simple little things!

Pleasant words are as a honeycomb,
sweet to the mind and healing to the body

We can complain because rose bushes have thorns,
or rejoice because thorn bushes have roses.

I'm praying for Boston and those killed and wounded in the horrific act of terrorism at the marathon. May those responsible be caught and brought to justice. May we all strive to make this world a better place.

Beautiful post,Pat! I can't wrap my mind around why people do what they do. But you are right about the amazing courage of others who run TOWARD those in danger and need instead of running away.
Lovely, LOVELY pictures!!
We need gentle words this week. Thanks.
Just beautiful, and just what was needed, Pat! Boston has been so much on my heart, mind and prayers. Been praying a lot about love and peace for this world... ((HUGS))
Lovely Note Cards Pat and the quotes resonate so well.
The last rose is lovely I thought maybe it is Abraham Derby - do you know?

Pat these are so beautiful as are the sentiments you express. Perfect post for a time like this.
Lovely photos and words that lighten the heart and encourage :)
Great photos and words for encouragement.
Sweet words of encouragement and love. Thank you.
It is so hard to believe this happened so close to home. The New York Yankees sang Sweet Caroline during the game last night as a shout out to Boston. Leave it to NY, to be so kind. If anyone knows about tragedy and rising above it it is your beloved NY. Lovely post Pat, thank you.
Beautiful post and photos Pat! Blessings, Pamela
Beautiful flower note cards Pat and words of comfort.

Thank you for these comforting cards with words.
All so true, Pat. We can only fight evil with good, defend ourselves against hatred by showing love. I truly believe every quote your shared.
Good Afternoon Pat, I was so sad to hear about the loss of life and the huge amount of casualties, due to the bombing in Boston.
Thank you for the beautiful words.
Best Wishes
Daphne
Beautiful, Pat. Love all the quotes. xo
Beautiful...I see you and I both went to the flowers in this troubling time.
Beauty and flowers have a way of comforting the soul, don't they? Your words and photos are so lovely, and so gentle. Looking at this post is like being wrapped in a soft hug.

Stunning photos of beautiful blooms!
Hi Pat, Very nice post --and such great words and photos.. It's such a tragedy what happened in Boston. My prayers are with all of the ones who were effected... God Bless them all.
Hugs,

These are beautiful!
gorgeous flowers and wonderful quotes to accompany them
I can't even imagine being able to hate that much. Even as a small child I couldn't understand the hatred I saw on the television news and I don't understand it any better today. I have a print of Norman Rockwell's "The Problem We All Live With" hanging in my entryway. It's one of my favorite Rockwells. It shows an innocent child surrounded by hatred. Once again we saw what hate can do. I think of that Rodney King quote..."Can't we all just get along?"
Beautiful photo's and words Pat.
Beautiful words in the midst of senseless tragedy Pat. We have to look for the beauty, always.
Another sad and senseless event. Wonderful tribute. Our hearts are all in Boston right now.
What a wonderful post. Thank you.
Very beautiful! I wish everyone would strive to make it a better place...if only! Sweet hugs to you my friend! Wonderful choices for notecards!
Beautiful post, Pat!
beautiful flowers...thoughts for those in Boston
Beautiful quotes for a sad occasion. these trials seem to bring out the best in many good people.
beautiful post ... the world needs calm ...
Lovely photos and words, and my heart echoes each one of them. And now a tragedy in West Texas with several people dead, oh my. I know it was not an act of terrorism, but truly tragic none-the-less. It does keep us praying for our friends and neighbours across the line.
A wonderful post for the Note Card Party. Nicely done!
Aloha
A beautiful post Pat, thank-you. Your flowers photos are so lovely
Flowers do soothe and bring comfort as do your gentle words. Heartfelt thoughts and prayers for Boston...
Margaret from B.C.
Lovely, Pat, I did a tribute too.
They will never be the same just as OK City, NY and other places who have suffered terrorist attacks. I hope they solve it quicker than Benghazi. I am amazed at that whole situation, heard the mom of one killed speak, and the dad of one in Walter Reed from wounds from it. They are not allowed to speak. Very strange.
Pat, I love the beautiful flowers & the wonderful encouraging quotes & scripture. I'm following you on Facebook now.
Smiles,
Carol
Beautiful words and photos, Pat. So much is happening in our beloved country lately. So tragic. My heart and prayers go out to those in Boston and now in West, TX.

Beautiful post for this sad time.
Beautiful inspiration.
Beautiful post Pat. We over here have heard all about Boston and seen on TV. You just can't believe it happened. We just heard on TV that the second boy was found too . What did get into them is what we ask ourselves.
Have a nice Sunday
What a beautiful way to pay tribute to those who have been affected by the horrors in Boston. We all have been affected in some way by them haven't we! I am happy it is over with for now!
Yes. The last MLK quote - one of my favorites. It resonates.
Beautiful flowers, and beautiful words.
Love all the pretty flowers and nice encouraging words.
